Feel the Warmth

Since we are still in winter, and I have been for the past few days, experiencing winter in Hawaii at it's best... I thought I would dedicate a few posts to the season. I will state right now, that I recognize the drop in temperature here will never match what most of you go through this time of year, but none the less, we have our own version of the season and i might add, are much less equipped to handle it. I do have very solid memories of many mainland winters and all that they entail.
Like radiators for instance...

I my memory and opinion, nothing beats the heat that comes from a radiator. They are few and far between these days, mostly found in older homes I would presume. That being the case is part of what makes the whole experience so great! In an older home, you will find plenty of chilly spots brought about by drafty windows and doors etc. Fear not, because a radiator gives more than heat, it is oh so much more ... it gives you a constantly, snuggly warm room- none of this new fangled hot to cold, hot to cold business that comes from furnaces these days; you get all kinds of fun noises that provide a good stage for making the imagination of child run wild in the quiet and dark of the night- no need to imagine the monster under the bed because you can actually hear it; you get the risk of minor burns if you're not careful- but that's ok because you want to stay away from those drafty windows under which it sits anyways; you get the most effective and efficient mitten, hat and boot dryer you have ever seen- coming in from a good, cold session of play in the snow, and your mitts will be dry, toasty warm, and ready for next round by the time you've finished your hot chocolate with marshmallows!
When I grow up... I hope to have a house with radiators, and I think this world would be a better place if more did.
