Many know me not to be one of those super girly girls. Wearing make up is rare. Even more rare are painted nails. My jewelry is pretty simple. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty or kill a bug if i have to. And i no longer wear pink. however, as a child, i was all of those things we know and love about little girls. I loved pink (perhaps to an extent that has since led me to an aversion of the color now), my baby dolls, my doll house, I wanted to be a ballet dancer, and most of all i loved twirling my skirts! i used to love to give myself a good twirl, and drop to floor, letting the skirt swirl around me on the floor. I liked to see if i could land with the whole skirt spread out around me in a circle. I think that sometimes it is nice to remember the little girl in yourself, that is still there. And some of those loveable little girl traits will always be there, though perhaps hiding behind the business professional, the student, the mom, or the general responsible adult, or whatever it may be. I still, to this day take great delight in a good twirling skirt! And it has been far too long since i have taken the opportunity to enjoy. And I must say that Leisl Von Trapp from the Sound of Music Movie has, by far, the end all of all swirly twirly skirts. I have always wanted a dress just like hers. I don't even need a gazebo to dance around in, the dress alone would be enough for me. Even though the gazebo would be a total bonus. Though not in pink :)Tuesday, October 13, 2009
some things will never change

I've always wanted her dress too and I'll take it in pink, just like in the movie ;)
